BBB OnLine Reliability Seal

WHY CHOOSE THE ARCTIC MOSQUITO KILLING SYSTEM OVER THE COMPETITION?

  • In hundreds of tests, the Arctic Mosquito Killing System (MKS) consistently captured several times as many mosquitoes than any other machine or product, greatly reducing mosquito populations. In actual field tests, the MKS has caught over 7,000 mosquitoes per hour, while competitors' machines in the same test area only captured a few hundred. (Many of these tests were conducted under harsh conditions. Don't expect the same results on your property. You can expect, however, to capture far more mosquitoes with the MKS than any other machine.)

Yes, competitors' products and machines will capture some mosquitoes. Even bug lights will loudly electrocute some mosquitoes. But these products do not use scientific measurements of heat release or carbon dioxide, which are necessary for effective and maximum reduction of mosquito populations.

Other products and machines produce heat with a flame, but do not produce body heat signatures. Only the MKS produces body heat signatures.

Other products and machines produce carbon dioxide (CO2) by the combustion of the flame, with no scientific release measurements. Only the MKS produces CO2 with scientific release measurements.

    How the MKS works:
    1) The MKS uses the mosquito's natural hunting techniques of heat sensing and carbon dioxide detection. It mimics body temperatures and breathing patterns of humans, horses, livestock, poultry, and domesticated pets by the release of carbon dioxide. Through thermal imagery and measured releases of CO2, mosquitoes are attracted to the unit, and captured.

    2) A photo sensor turns the unit on at night and off at daylight. For the unit to come on earlier or stay on later, you simply place the cover on the photocell and plug the MKS into a timer for desired settings.

    3) Body heat signatures are produced with a heat blanket in the heat chamber cycling every few minutes from 85 degrees to 110 degrees. This feature is performed continuously when unit is running.

    4) The CO2 is warmed and released to mimic breathing. When the unit first comes on at night, the CO2 is programmed to release for 5 hours. It cycles on for 2 minutes and off for 1.5 minutes, releasing 750 cc a minute.

    5) The fan produces different air currents. One air current creates a vacuum to draw mosquitoes into the unit. Another air current flows away from the unit carrying and disbursing the attractants, thus magnifying the attractants. The fan also acts as a killing mechanism throwing mosquitoes against the inner wall. Plus, mosquitoes are killed when they pass through the electrocution grid.

    6) The interior electrocution grid is spaced to create a kill zone when mosquitoes pass through, with a 99% kill ratio. The remains are then expelled through the bottom of the unit and returned to the environment.

    7) The capture net is to be used only for selecting the best location for placement of the MKS units. Continued use of the capture net decreases the airflow by 1 mph.

    As high as $1,395!

    • Uses propane, which is a highly flammable gas!
    • Uses Octenol, which is a pesticide and potentially harmful to children.
    • Does not use precise scientifically calculated heat signatures and CO2 measurements, which attract the mosquitoes.  It burns propane to create heat with no scientifically calculated body heat signatures.
    • The catalytic converters build up with carbon from combustion and get clogged. (The units may last one year if you’re lucky!)
    • You are required to buy CO2 cartridges for cleaning every 21 days.
    • You are required to buy useless attractants and accessories. (How much Octenol do you have on you when you go outside and get bit? Answer: None)
    • It is made out of plastic.
    • Constant cleaning and maintenance required.
    • Required to purchase new capture nets every month.
    • The propane tank only lasts 21 days.

    OCTENOL IS BAD …

According to the material safety data sheet Octenol can cause nasal and respiratory irritation, skin irritation, and stomach upset. Octenol is also potentially very harmful to children.
